Yep, if you buy a new GTI (have to be the first owner/registry on the car) Volkswagen of America sends you a Fast... the packaging is hillarious, it includes installation instructions... :)

This was the first VWFixx meet I've been to, they have a big meet the first Sat of every month.

I know Subaru is aiming the next gen STI right at the GTI market...

...personally I won't trade my lack of turbo lag and ample low end torque for awd... especially in FL...

The "Fast" is the cool little demon-bunny that is the Mascot for the new GTI... that little black thing on the ground in front of my car... :)

An oldschool Mercedez was out saturday night, if you guys wanna come out and chill come on down.

...just don't try to race the S4... cause I doubt many of you could beat it... it walked a local turbo'd R32... yay bi-turbos... :)

Personally I don't regard the STI as being in the same class as the GTI... it costs like 10k more... I don't see why they're aiming a 4-door coupe at a 2-door hatch... Fast envy maybe?

yeah, he's got the bi-turbo... nope... not stock... and it has Quattro AWD... I think he's putting down something in the ballpark of 340... its easily the fastest car in the club down here (for now... a couple guys are gunning for more power)... scratch that... my boss's 2005 S4 is prolly faster (V-8, not stock either)... he's putting down around 380 (his toy car is a 93 twin turbo RX7... which is SCARY fast...).

I'm hoping to get my output to be around 300 hp... any more and the FWD will get really squirrely... :)

if you havent seen the fast commercials, go on www.youtube.com and search for them. frikkin hilarious. subaru is taking a cheap shot in that ad, and smear campaigns just put a bad taste in my mouth about the campaigner. that meet looks pretty good. my buddy has an A4 prolly puttin down atleast 300hp. crazy ass brakes and wheels too.its something you just have to see to believe, theyres so little clearance it looks like they were machined to fit. anyways i think that would be a nice meet to attend.

I suppose if you really think my Fast will help you run better times I could rent it to you...

I think the GTI is pretty quick... peak torque (206lbs) starts at 1800 rpm... peak hp (200) starts leveling out around 4-5k... redline is above 7.
There does seem to be some variation from the factory, I havn't run quarters yet, but when I did a baseline dyno (on a really crappy dyno, that's a whole nother story) I only put down 175hp and 193 ft/lbs at the wheels...

Intake will hopefully arrive late this week... if finances work out like I think they will, I'll have the Giac programming before my Bday (june 22)... Giac equipped cars (that are otherwise stock) are putting down 260+ ft/lbs... :)
