i hate body work soooooo much, its funny as soon as I saw the title I was going to say UPS brown like on the classic 911s :drool: but then I saw your pics and I guess it was not to far from that.... how about a nice dark navy blue? It would match the interior well?

Are you going to repaint it the factory color or go with something else?

That blue is my favorite color but I won't be changing to blue. To properly do a repaint with a color change I would need to not only disassemble the car to the point I already have, but also remove the engine and at least part of the interior. Thats just more than I want to tackle right now.

what about a darker shade of the same color, that way you can still have something new and get away with not painting all the odds and ins

Looks painted and near done to me! The picture that really threw me off was the last one, where the top of the fender and the side of the fender are reflecting different lights and it makes the top of the fender look much different.

Thats painted. The color is platinum metalic. Theres still 3 coats of clear and a cut and buff still coming. :D

OK, more progress pics. The last pics I posted were after the base coat ( color) was laid down as well as a coat of clear. Well folks, that coat of clear was wet sanded w/ 1500 grit and then a couple more coats of clear were sprayed. This series of pictures shows work that was done today. There was plenty of wet sanding, this time with 1500 and 3000 grit. then polishing compound is used with a buffer. Tomorrow we will be finishing the buffing and begin reassembly.

This first picture shows what the rear quarter looks like after you take it to task with some 3000 grit wet paper.

This is me lightly DA'ing the hood with some 3000. I had already blocked it with 1500 by hand. For those that havent seen it. 3000 grit paper is smother than notebook paper. Theres not alot of cutting done with it. Its just used to take out the orange peal from the clear.
