i wanna build a 500te so bad :(

twich i work m-f so weekend would be best to pick up that trans. worst case i could take a day off work but id need a bit of notice


well thursday is my only day off, but i dont want you to have to take a day off just so i can pick up the tranny... hmm... i will have to think of something

and as for building a 500TE.... i hadnt thought of that... thats a good idea! haha

HAHA, i will let you know if i get that far, but from looking at that mess of wires that you had and knowing that i hate electric work...i might stay away

WAIT... would i really need to do as much wiring as you? what if i just foun a 500E as a doner and just used the ECU from that... i mean, its the same frame... i wouldnt even have to make the custom motor mounts that you did.... Hmmm this is seeming more and more feesable

Unfortunately the 500E/E500 used a CAN network and I'm going to guess that earlier build 300E/300TE were significantly different. Most likely, your car is very similar to my post '90 MAS equipped (former) 2.6 in the wiring department. That said, if you got the entire 500E loom (like all the major harnesses) you could probably update it. I second fox's suggestion of stripping everything out and starting from scratch with something else. Lot's of work though......if anything I would recommend getting a 24v m103 or m104 and starting there (or was it just a CIS 24v m104 and not m103...I can never remember)...maybe even a 3.6 as they are getting more and more common.

I made a few upgrades to the car (via Photoshop)

Pinstripe Delete
Roof rack Delete
Headlight Wiper Delete
Hood Star Delete
Euro Headlights
Cleaned up paint
Tinted all around


Any Comments? Ideas? Suggestions?

the only mods you should do is the pinstripe, 600 grill, and slam it on its MF nuts. leave the roof rack, it will look better with it then without it, Tint is for homos, we've been over it on this forum a Billion times, Fishbowl is the way to go. and definitely paint the lowers, the 2 tone looks like crapolla

i dont know how to do paint on PS that looks real. i do plan on leaving the roof rack, but on PS it was faster just to delete it rather than crop around it, lol and i am deff doing the euros too

If anyone ever wants a set of 124 chassis 500E front fenders, I am pretty sure I know where the set that used to be on my 124 are. They looked amazing.

well it has been neglected for the past couple months, BUT the final plans will be to get it to look like it does in my sig (thats all Photoshop) i want AMG hammer Wheels for it. and of course there is always the idea of dropping a 500 in that thing to make a 500TE
