I finally added the clear tail lenses and sidemarker. I can't afford the fronts right now but i will eventually get there!

I painted the calipers yellow with the G2 paiting system. Im sure some will cry PCCB's but i think they look great. I wish i would of put a 3rd coat on them, but they look pretty good.

The car was also completely stripped and recovered with a 3 step process and porter cable. The previous owner wasn't skilled with a buffer and left a quite a bit of swirl. It has that wet look again

Enjoy the pics

I've seen first hand how much the Porsche litronic head lights cost, which is probably a few more bucks than $800...

you dont need new headlights, just stick ur in an oven to open em. Then take out the orange reflector sh!t and replace em with those silver bulbs that light up orange :)

Haha ouch! That is a bummer...

I wasn't taking it as critical, just responding lightheartedly in hopes of a donation :)

I can get regular clears for around 700-800, and Litronics for around 900-1300 depending on if they are new or used.

It was suggested that i should get a tint spray and spray the bottom orange part. Since my car is black, it might look pretty darn cool.

Anyone have experience with this stuff?

Go to a sign shop and get a piece of black or chrome vinyl and see if you like it.

Has anyone used the tint spray?

I think it works good only if it is clear and you are smoking it. I am pretty sure it will just be a super dark orange. Do the vinyl till you save up for the real deal ;)

Vinyl I did on mine. Either just keep trimming it with scissors and checking it against the car (with the backing still on) Or stick it down then very lightly with razor blade.

i used the tint spray on my tail lights and front corner lights, its easy to use, basically the same as spray paint, the closer you spray the darker it will be, and also the more coats you put on the darker it will be.

here's a pic:

front corners, notice the difference between the yellow on the race car.

if you use the paint, light shows through perfectly fine. even if you apply it dark like my lights, there is no problem.

i'd have to agree with you actually, i got kinda carried away with it while i was painting them. The paint i used is the same paint used to just lightly smoke tail lights as most people do, which i had intended on, but i ended up going full-out black, oh well. most of the time i dont mind how it looks now, at least its different.

LDadrenaline

lol it wont hurt them... i mean think about how hot the bulbs are inside the case. The heating just expands the plastic a bit so you can open em up

I did this on my friends supra, we baked the headlights then pulled them apart, it's not really that hard you just have to take your time.

it lookin good, keith! that litronic setup is mucho expensive. i have a ballast set and one ignitor if you want them i'll mail 'em to ya if it makes the conversion any easier for you. i'll have to get the part number off of them cuz i'm not sure what year/model they are from.

btw, we are now retailing a pretty good amount of stuff for porsche, so if there's any way I can help you let me know...I'd be happy to play a part in the progression of your newest project! with that said...I can finance a VF Engineering kit for you, 90 days no interest ;) c'mon you know you want to, hah

Gator911
08-11-2006, 01:51 PM
Or i can design my own:evil:

But year, get me those part numbers for the litronic components you have...

If i can put together whole set for $800 i will do it...
