Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Bill Schwab.
I live in the sleeply little hamlet of Brooksville, Fl.
I have owned German auto since I was 21 yo and was serving with pride in the US Air Force, Travis AFB, CA.
At that time I was driving a 1977 VW Scirocco. What a great little car.
The only car that I had owned up to that time, that I could slide the drivers seat ALL the way back and NOT reach the pedals. Mind you, I am 5'11' tall. So that is saying something. Of course, the only person who could sit behind me, was a double amputee. LOL.

Now I drive a comfortable, if not racy, BMW 525i. You know. the M20 version. Not fast, but fun, and comfortable.

When not working for a major airline as a Lead Mechanic (A&P) in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, I am the owner/operator of Precision Mobile Tire in Brooksville. Hence, the moniker, TheTireMan.
I sell brand name tires, mount, balance and install them at your location. I use the Hunter 'Road Force' balancer and changer. Only the finest equipment for the finest automobiles.

I hope that the administators don't find this objectionable. As I mean no harm at all.
But, I would like to offer my services to all club members, as every body would like to know of a good shop and a fair deal.

Again, Hello and thanks.

Thanks to all for the warm reception.

As for pics of the 5er, I'll have to ask my teen age daughter how to do it.LOL.

I live on the east side of B'ville. If you know Papa Joe's restaraunt, I'm 1.5 miles from there.

Just drop me an email or ring me up, and we'll get some new tennies on the Bimmer.

Thanks again to everybody.

Bill.

Anyway, glad to have you here and get some of those pictures up when you get a chance. :D

Hey Bill!
Welcome to the forum.
I pass through Brooksville all time when I go to visit family and friends in Crystal River.
I'll definitely keep you in mind when I need new tires.

WOW!!!

This has got to be the most friendly forum I have ever posted to.
I have never seen more 'hi/hellos/welcomes' anywhere.
Thanks.

The 5er is in the shop getting new rear wheel bearings now. Will/should have a chance this week to post pix.

Yes, the Scirocco was an awesome car.
I had the first gen. Four round headlights.
The first was a '77 1.6l 4 speed car that I drove for a year and a half. After getting her all beat up in an Oklahoma hail storm, traded her in on a 81 (?) Scirocco, 5 speed 'S' model. Wish I still had that one.

That was just the start of owning German autos. VW, BMW and Mercedes (diesel of course). Love them all.

Later,

Bill.
